Tories' plans for business rates given a cautious welcome.

The Daily Mail approves the inclusion of reform of business rates in the Conservative manifesto for the general election.

Commercial Property Advisors (CPA) , whilst welcoming the increase in discounts for independent retailers, for example, nevertheless regards wholesale reform of the rating system as highly unlikely, whichever party wins the election - if only because government is bound to prize the £31 billion brought in annually by non-domestic rates.

Rather than wait for political largesse, CPA recommends firms to have their rates professionally re-assessed, and to consider appeals as a matter of urgency.

CPA's no win no fee service, undertaken by a team of experienced professionals, removes all risk and time-consuming paperwork from the shoulders of its clients, allowing them to view the future with greater confidence .
