The Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) reports sharp rates to rise for retail opticians' premises -an unexpected consequence of new measures by the Chancellor.
To compound matters, ABDO notes the increased burden on the ratepayer to supply detailed reasons for an appeal, which has to be made within four months of the response of the Valuation Officer to any challenge.
