We constantly monitor the situation on your business rates to gain savings whenever we can. As you may know, to support businesses through this lockdown, chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced £4.6bn of grant funding. This includes a one-off top-up grant for leisure, hospitality and retail businesses of up to £9,000.
The cash is provided on a per-property basis to support businesses through the latest restrictions, and is expected to benefit over 600,000 business properties, worth £4 billion in total across all nations of the UK.
The key points:
This is a one-off top-up and will be granted to closed businesses
Any business which is legally required to close, and which cannot operate effectively remotely, is eligible for a grant
This grant is per property, not business. This means that if you have three properties you should be entitled for three grants.
£4,000 for businesses with a rateable value of £15,000 or under
£6,000 for businesses with a rateable value between £15,000 and £51,000
£9,000 for businesses with a rateable value of over £51,000
