Update: We've now created a post on the things you can do to maximise your chances of getting CARF relief, read it here.
It's been a long time coming. CPA have been working with our clients over the past two years to ensure that those who've slipped through the cracks when it comes to business rates relief are accounted for. But after a mass appeal was rejected, and the announcement of a COVID relief fell never bore fruit, business owners across the British Isles were left twiddling their thumbs.
Well the good news is that nearly one and a half years after the governments announcement on additional COVID relief, the councils finally have the cash in the kitty to start paying out.
The bad news? It's a logistical nightmare.
Some councils have already shut their doors for relief, some will be doing so soon. It's being treated very much on a first-come, first-served basis. We've been trying to access the government page for the relief for half an hour and the site seems to have crashed.
How can you apply for a relief you can't even access? Especially when time is of the essence.
Our own dedicated account managers have been working round the clock to ensure our clients are first in line to receive the relief they deserve. If you're a business that didn't qualify for relief during COVID, but suffered as a result from the pandemic, we'd like to hear from you.
